As a apart of our short film course, FTVM 300, we were tasked with making 2 short films start to finish. I acted as Art Director and Color Grader.

For our film ‘Sparrows’, we were tasked with designing the set to depict the living room of a filipina law student. Working with the creator, it was important much of the inspiration be from Won Kar Wei films as well as the traditional filipino households.

This project served as a big learning tool. It was my first opportunity to do any form of large scale art direction. Learning to work with people who also have a strong creative opinion was my biggest takeaway and finding that line between accepting all creative opinions vs sticking to the initial plan was a great line to find and communicating that to our team as early as possible.
